Plot: High-school senior Bartleby "B" Gaines is on his way to scoring eight out of eight rejection letters from colleges--which isn't going to go over big with Mom and Dad. At least he's not alone in the ex...( read more read more... )clusion. Several of his crew of outcast friends are in the same, college-less boat. So… how does a guy facing a bleak career please his parents and get noticed by dream girl Monica? Simple. Open his own university. B and his band of misfit freshmen take "liberal" arts literally when they fool their parents and peers and create the esteemed South Harmon Institute of Technology. Just as they are settling in, B and company realize they've done their jobs too well. Dozens of other college rejects show up for classes at this less-than-lofty institute. Under the scornful eyes of the privileged students from the neighboring college, B and his friends forge ahead with maintaining a fake, functioning university. With his future in the balance, it's going to take more than just sleight of hand to keep B out of jail as he strives to get the girl, impress his parents and just become… accepted.

I loved this movie. Justin Long started his good career here. Filled with laughs and believe it or not but good morals. You should watch this one, B+

More funny, more creative, and better way of illustrating the rejected losers vs. spoiled traditionalists of the college life rivalry than Amanda Byne's Sydney White.

Accepted is the kind of low-key almost teen sex comedy without much sex and more high-brow jokes. Just the fact that it has a James Garfield joke put it's humor a rung above. It starts off as pathetic as can be with the exact course obvious.

Then, it actually started to win me over a bit. The direction still followed expectations, but it ended up working, but not enough to make it good enough to recommend, but enough to not call it a waste of time.

In terms of plot, lets face it, its pretty basic. If you saw the trailer, you know the plot. But what makes this movie great are the one liners. So if you like quick wit and just really want to laugh this is a good movie to go see. Its not too gratuitous and over the top, and it doesn't push so hard to be funny. Some movies just try to hard, but the basic plot and classic one liners make this movie entertaining. If you just want to get out of the house and go laugh with your friends this is the perfect movie for you. Especially if you are about to go to college or are in college. I think that everyone can relate to this movie and you should see it if you want to be entertained.
